At what stage might cells breakaway and cause a tumor in another area of the body?

Caner cells often travel in the lymph vessels to other parts of the body, where they continue to divide. why does this characteristic make cancer especially dangerous?

    the stage is metastasis…

it allows cancer cells to travel to other sites of the body and if the cells settle in an appropriate environment, they will proliferate and form a secondary tumor far away from the primary tumour…
