What Organ System Do Teeth Fall Under? (anatomy&physiology)?
The teeth can be described as many different organ systems for a variety of views on how they function, what they are composed of, and other views, which ill try to point out at least partially. now im curious on this because.. well i just am, and since i can not contact my anatomy teacher as im on a winter break from school, i would like a good answer from somebody, which for 10 points would include the chemical make up of a tooth (tissues, minerals, elements and the like), what system they feel it falls best under, and why.
one view of the tooth’s system is people assume it is digestive because it helps refine food down to a level where you can more easily digest and manage it.
another is that people feel it is part of the integumentary system because it is a covering and can be used as protection and is an outside layer if you.. well smile and can be used as a protective ‘cover’ of your mouth
and finally the other common view is they can be part of your skeletal system (which i doubt because they do not contain marrow, produce blood, and are not nearly as flexable or made of osteocytes/blasts/clasts/ or ect.) but they feel that way because they are protective again, but you’ll really have to prove your point to me on that one to get points.
thanks for your help and just reviewing this in general and i hope we find a solution.
Sincerely yours,

P.S. ill give 10 points (best answer) to whoever can answer this question in the best anatomical and physiological terms, provide what the tooth is made up of (a.k.a. minerals, tissues, major cells, and elements), and overall seems most correct.
